Over the past number of years Engineering Professionals, i.e., Engineers, Engologists and ETechnicians, have seen their status, job prospects, and salaries eroded by the planned influx of immigrants, outsourcing and Corporate propaganda. This degradation of Engineering Professionals is totally unacceptable. Because of the movement of professionals from country to country, these issues can only be solved on a global basis. The Professional Engineering Societies seem to be unwilling to take charge of the situation. The function of this Association is to address these problems and co-ordinate, internationally, the Engineering Professionals with a view to stabilising the situation and giving these professionals security of employment with proper financial reward. The present dilemma in the United States and other developed countries where companies are asking Engineering Professionals to train foreign replacements or else face loss of severance pay, is totally degrading and unacceptable as well. It would also be incumbent to introduce proper professional terminology such as Titles, Initials, etc. ( Er, Egt, ETn ).

The above-mentioned Professionals will operate as separate entities but may support each other in demanding times so as to give greater clout, globally. For example, if engineering professionals are in dispute with a company and if the company decides to transfer work to another branch, even if it is in another country, other members will refuse to do this work. There are very many other proposals that need to be considered.

This Association is not in competition with the learned Engineering Professional Societies who's main function is to regulate with regard to ethics, standards, and other professional activities.

If you support my efforts, please send me an e-mail, in confidence, to, Fintan@Engineer.com.

Students should support this association since they will be the main beneficiaries of any positive results.

Fintan Lynch, B.E., Eng-i
